Registering is hard work!
Permalink Closed

So we set up our registries this weekend - I don't think I've ever disliked shopping so much!  It took us 3 hours at one store and 1 hour at another, and we had to split it over 2 days it was so exhausting.  I left each time feeling dazed from all the overstimulation!

So after going through it myself, I'd advise people to do some research about pots and pans before you go.  Then, if you're registering at more than one store and it's possible you might have some overlap, register for everything you think you might want at all the stores, even if you know you're registering for duplicates.  Then you can always go home and debate and remove items online, but all the items the store carries aren't necessarily available for you to add to your registry online.

Also, 'fine' china, glassware, and silverware are EXTREMELY expensive!  I knew the expensive stuff was out there and thought we could find something a little more reasonable ... nope!

Anyway, I am super glad it is over with for now!

I am glad that someone else feels this way! All my friends said that it was so much fun, well my FI took 2 hours doing fine china, crystal and little extras and then finished everything else online. We never even went into Crate and Barrel! It took us forever!

Good ideas from the trenches, Elle!  Getting the gifts should be a lot more fun

What china pattern did you choose?

The style is called Platinum Glamour - it's white bone china with a thick stripe of pearlescent silver/cream color around the outside and then a bead of silver along the edge.  Can't seem to find it online though ...
