Invite Wording Q?
Permalink Closed

I was wondering if I need to add that our wedding is Cocktail Attire. The only reason I question is because our wedding is at 6pm, but the groomsmen are wearing navy blazers and khaki pants so I just didn't want anyone to go by what 6pm usually deems and wear a tux? We do have it stated on our website and most people have heard that is not black tie. But I just don't want anyone to feel silly, since I am going against ettiquette. Thoughts!
Thank you again!

hmm...i can't imagine anyone wearing a tux without being told it IS black tie (on the invitation), but then that might just be the people i know.

if i did anything, it would probably be on the reception card and either put "cocktail attire" at the bottom or just imply it by saying something like "semi-formal reception to follow" or something like that.

Oh I like that much better! I will put it on the reception card. Since I am from Atlanta, most people in the south see 6pm and think formal. But anyone that knows us, and that is all we are inviting won't do that. But I worry about some of my father's friends. Thanks!

Update: We decided to add Semi-Formal to the actual invite. My designer added it very tastefully at the bottom. Thanks to everyone!
