Im just curious as to how many people go and get either mystic tan, airbrush tanning, etc... on a regular basis to keep some color throughout the year.
Im pretty pale and feel like i look and feel better with some color. there are packages available where you can have unlimited spray tanning for 40 dollars a month... is this something worth doing?
My problem with that is... dont you usually have to exfoliate before having it done... so if i went every few days that would mean exfoliating my face alot! which i think would be harsh on my face?

I have done air brushing jsut for special occaisions. I go to a spa where they exfoliate me and then spray me down. It is too expensive to do year round
I've kind of looked into it too because I, like you, am very fair. I couldn't find any place that had unlimited for 40 dollars a month, though! If I could I would be getting it done all the time because that doesn't seem too bad to me, and it's so worth not damaging your skin.
As for the exfoliating, I think it's recommended, but not necessary. Plus it's different on your face since you (probably) get rid of dead skin faster there, as long as you wash it twice a day and everything, so you probably wouldn't be having to use a grainy exfoliator all the time.
ETA: you can also get chemical exfoliators that aren't grainy for your face and are good to use everyday. Like this one by Aveda:

I used to do spray tanning a bit (now I stay pale or do my own at home tanning in the summer) and I always put a shower cap on over my face because I don't like the look of self-tanner on the face. I just use a bronzer to even things out. Warning, if you do it, rub off on your chin very first thing when you get out of the tan shower, just so you don't get a weird line where the shower cap was.
i'm with blubirde--i dont like to have my face tanned, so i put a towel over it. but if you can have unlimited for $40/month, that sounds like a great deal. and if you didn't want to exfoliate your face too often, you could just cover your face in the booth maybe half the time or three out of four times?
