Hey girls, just wanted to give yall an update. I went up to UF today just to get one more feel for it and I can honestly say that I think that's where I'll be attending next fall. We went up and met up with a girl who went to my school last year and talking with her really helped to cement my decision. This morning I had kind of been leaning toward UGA but today I just sat outside the student union in the sun (thanks Chic, the vibe test worked!) and I could honestly see myself living there and just loving all that it has to offer. Also, my dad told me that because I was getting a free ride due to Bright Futures scholarship, he and my mom would be willing to give me 5K a year for investments so I will have a nest egg after college. I'm so glad I went today because it just clicked for me and I knew it made sense that I go there. Hopefully I won't be changing my mind, but I suck at making decisions, so we'll see.
Thank you girls soooo much for helping me out. I don't know what I'd do without yall!

awww, I'm so glad. I had no good advice for you because my parents dictated where I went (close & cheap) so I didn't do the whole tour thing. But my little sis has been going through the same thing & I know it's a tough decision. Good for you!
GO GATORS! (not really, but i'm trying to be supportive).

Good for you, that's awesome! FWIW, I had a very similar choice to make when I decided on schools--one was close and much less expensive, and one was further away, expensive private school, prestigious journalism program that I was excited to be accepted to. Anyway, I first chose the farther away one, and signed up for a dorm, etc. and the closer the date got, the more it didn't feel right. I changed my mind and went to the closer school, which was still a very good school, and I haven't regretted it. So I guess what I am saying is, good for you for trusting your instincts on this--I think you will have a great experience like I did.
I'm pretty convinced that it all has to do with the vibe of the school. Most good schools will have at least one program that you'd be interested in, so I don't think (in most cases) that programs are the best way to base a college decision. Feeling comfortable at a school and feeling like you fit in well is super important.
Glad to hear you've made a decision. Now enjoy the rest of your senior year!
That's great you mind up your mind. And honestly, they really are pretty similar in terms of programs, reputation, rankings, etc. I think you'll easily find your niche at Florida and have a great time.
