I think you're talking about mesotherapy. Yeah, I was curious too... until I asked both my dermo and plastic surgeon about it. It's VERY sketchy. It's touted as a miracle product and is really popular in Europe and recently doctors started using it here. My doctors (including all of the ones in my family) are all very skeptical and weirded out by it because there's really not enough research on it AND each doctor makes their own "cocktail" of injections which could be really dangerous. And you have to have it done in a series... once you add up the cost it's about the same as lipo which is about the same price, permanent, and more mainstream.
there was an article about different kinds of plastic surgery in and issue of Allure a couple of months ago. this woman had it done and it didn't stop eating at her fat and it ate throught the skin on her inner upper arm. she had this HUGE nasty orangey yellow blistery thing. it looked like when you get bitten by a brown recluse spider only bigger.
generally the consensus in the health care community is that it's a no go. there's not a lot of info, there's a lot a "blotched" cases, and the fact that it's a cocktail, there's no real standardized injection.

I've never even heard of such a thing, but it sounds waaaaaaaaaaay super sketchy.
I really think D&E are the only true way to lose and keep off the weight. A shot could get rid of fat temporarily, but if you don't eat well and exercise, that weight's just going to come back.
