I am trying to plan our Honeymoon and since there are so many great locations we are trying to narrow it down by how it is to travel there. After a weekend destination wedding in SC we will be tired so we want to keep the travel time down and the min. amounts of transfers.
Where is a good website to look up how to get to certain locations. I tried all the personal websites and only a few have listed a How to get there type part. I am sure there is something out there that has this type of info....such as if you are going to Cap Juluca you fly to St. Maarten from Atlanta and then take a 30 min. ferry over....
We do want to go somewhere outside of the US, but I have not checked the travel channel. Thanks!
This is what we are trying to avoid....fly into A transfer to plane B, then take Bus C to get to Ferry D, and then our whole days is gone.... We are fine with being on a plane for 6 hours or less and with at least one transfer to another small plane or a ferry.
I guess the hard part is that I had to call Delta to find out that the only fly to Antigua on Sundays and Wednesdays... I would love to be able to look that info up online, versus calling Delta for 10 different locations!
Hmm, I'm not sure where you could look this info up, but usually there's info about "how to get there" in guidebooks?
When I went to the Virgin Islands we broke our trip up a bit so that we didn't spend a whole day just traveling. We ended up flying in to Miami, staying there one night, then flying to the islands the next day. I didn't really think of the ferry ride in the same light of wasted traveling time as I do the airports/airplanes because you're out on BEAUTIFUL water, the scenery is gorgeous, and you can relax and stretch out. We also took a few days in Miami/The Keys on the way back to California as well. Breaking up all the flying and time in airports worked out really well.
