. my mom always said "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?!?!" but my thoughts are, i wouldn't buy a pair of shoes without trying them on....
ugh! I used to get that all the time from the older ladies I work with. I always said, "I am not a cow!"

My cool grandma would say "why should you keep the whole pig when you can just get the sausage?"

Ha! That's hilarious.
My uncool grandmother says a girl can never get herself in trouble if she keeps her feet in a bucket. How f'ed up is that?
As for the milk for free... I can GUARANTEE there ain't nothing for free in this relationship. Plus, if that's the concern with living together, too late.

My mom said that too! I lived with hubby for almost a year before we got married, and I don't regret it for a second. I totally agree with you. I'd rather learn that he and I couldn't live together before we got married.
One piece of advice I'd like to add to the already great list is to not worry about what other people might think. I agonized over my decision to move in with hubby because my parents didn't exactly approve. But, I realized that moving in was something both hubby and I wanted, and needed, to make sure that the relationship could survive marriage. It has to be about you and your bf, because it's your life and your relationship.
