when you do the wedding makeup job you posted about, willl you bring all the makeup she needs along with you, or does she have to buy everything you're going to use?
just wondering b/c my friend is having our hairdresser do her makeup (he's a makeup artist too), and he sent her to see someone at mac to buy the makeup for the look he wants to do. she spent quite a bit on the makeup, and will probably never use some of it (foundation, powder, concealer -- she never wears makeup) again. i'm wondering if it would be less expensive for her to just hire the mac guy to come do it if he brings the makeup than to have to buy all the stuff and then pay the hair guy on top of that to do the makeup.
I bring my own collection, but I have every color and item we offer. I usually do a trial run with the bride at the counter before her wedding. I have had some that bought every single thing, for their own personal use, as well as some that just bought the necessities they would need to touch up with throughout the day, after I'm gone.
I would think it would be cheaper to just hire the mac guy to freelance. But is this going to piss the hair guy off? Is this going to piss the mac counter if she returns all the makeup she bought? Just some food for thought.
Anyways, let me know if you have any other questions!

it is probably too late to change the plans. the hair guy might be okay with it, but i don't think it's worth risking making things weird with him. (we both have him cut our hair and he is amazing). he'll probably do a great job on the makeup, anyway.
oh well, it's good to know that hiring the mac guy to freelance is an option (he was so sweet and did an incredible job). although i hope that i will not be envolved in any other weddings anytime soon.
oh, and BTW, I bought some of the creme eyeliner and I LOVE it!!! coolest thing ever.
