Or at least to the business schools that I applied to. I got rejected to both. I was not expecting to get rejected by my backup. Now I have no idea what to do...the thought of staying at my current mindless job will kill even more braincells. I was thinking of looking for a more management oriented position, but I have no idea is that is possible without an MBA or any classes...Eeek I need a Plan B. Someone tell me to stop feeling sorry for myself and kick my butt into gear.
oh i'm so sorry... huge hugs. don't feel too down. it's a crapshoot, and honestly it's so hard to figure out the standards schools use.
two things:
one, you don't necessarily need an mba to move into management. i would start looking into mgmt jobs and just apply. you could totally end up finding something.
two, are there any other schools you're interested in? it's not too late to apply for round 3 at a lot of schools. i know tons of schools that accept applications until march. if you're deadset on an mba you can always apply to other schools. also some schools will give you feedback on your application. maybe you can get some and then re-work the your prior apps.
you're not undesirable. your stylethread friends think you're great!
Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry. It will be ok. It just might take longer to get what you want. The schools will let you interview to find out ways to make your application stronger, right? And can you retake the gmat? they take the highest score, right? (law schools average the lsat).
And I know I keep telling people who feel like they are in dead-end jobs that there are ways to use it to get skills and practice and that it will work out. But seriously, it's because I know there are ways to use a crappy job to gain some fabulous skills, and well, it will work out.
You'll be fine. You'll be fine. You'll be fine. And i know it hurts. Take good care of yourself.
