Someone posted on this a while ago, and I think I want to try it - the thing is, how long does a six-ounce bottle last? Anyone know? And has someone with very fair skin tried it yet?
I have fair skin. I have blue eyes and freckles. I do have brown hair and my skin does tan if I try, but without a tan, I am super-pale.
I used Fake Bake for a while last spring and it does give you awesome color. I think the regular size bottle (is that 6 oz?) lasted about a month or so. I put it on every day for about 5 days in a row and then cut back to 2 or 3 times a week. It was such a mess though, and I could never get it quite right on my hands and ankles so I didn't buy it again. I always slathered it on everywhere to make sure I didn't miss any spots. You don't have to blend that much as long as you are covered with it, but you are pretty much sitting/ standing around in the nude for a couple of hours with globs of chocolate-pudding-like substance while it dries. And it stained my sheets, but I know some people have said it completely washed out of theirs. . .
I would rather do mystic tan--it is worth it to me for the $ for the time and hassle saved, but I do think Fake Bake is worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

I am pretty fair and I have used it. Like ejc said, the color is good (but nothing spectacular IMO) but it was so messy, I couldn't stand it. The stuff got on my sheets, towels, etc. It mostly came out, but I am a mess freak and I couldn't stand it. I think I gave my bottle away. I have had better color with the Loreal tanning wipes or the Clarins milk, so it wasn't worth it for me.

i got Fake Bake, Body Glow (i think that was the name) and the scrub from the company rep at one of my sales meetings. i have used the Fake Bake about 6-8 times and the bottle is starting to empty out. i would say you can get between 10-12 applications.
i really liked it until the last time. i was wearing my NYE dress and my legs streaked! first time it ever happened and i'm not sure what happened. but i blended it out with Big Sexy AeroTan and all was well.
overall, i was pleased with the performance. halleybird mentioned it has the potential to be messy. make sure you wear old pajamas and a long sleeve shirt to bed after you apply and try to let it dry as much as possible before putting your clothes back on.
ew, I'm a neat freak, so I'm taking it out of my sephora cart now. And Halleybird, I already like the L'oreal wipes a lot, so I'll just stick with those. Thanks y'all!
The wipes won't give a really dark color, and there's a chance of streaks, but they're very handy and mess-free. You can get dressed pretty much immediately, and they've never stained any of my clothes. If I want more color, I use the L'oreal gel once a week, and then the wipes every other day. I can get a whole body out of one wipe (I like to do my legs first so they're darkest), and I think they come in boxes of six or eight. I forget because I haven't use them since last summer.
