I didn't watch, but I thought this pic was pretty funny:
The newly-crowned 2006 Miss America, Jennifer Berry, from Tulsa, Okla., takes a bite of french fries and ranch dressing during her post-pageant press conference at the 2006 Miss America pageant in Las Vegas, Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006. Berry told pageant host James Denton that she couldn't wait to eat the dish once the pageant was over. (AP Photo/Jae C. Hong)
She looks scary and plastic and I guess she couldn't have those fries while she was "in training" for the pageant, god help us all if someone who eats actual food won.
I didn't watch it either, 50 plastic looking fem-bots with big hair is not my idea of fun.
I watched with my friends and we were upset that she won. Three of the last 5 were actually very pretty in a natural way (ie. did not look plastic or stereotypically pretty) and we were really rooting for them.
They all sounded like bimbos in their interview question though. Seriously not one of them answered it.
Here is the surprising thing- she has never had any plastic surgery. My bf dated her in high school. They went to high school together and he says she looked the exact thing back then. Apparently she is really nice so I am okay that she won. He is pretty particular too. He always makes fun of her for being a pagent girl, but in the end was pretty excited she won bc she is really nice.
ETA: My bf is sitting here next to me and he was trying to describe her to me and I thought this was really funny. Talking about her intelligence:
"She isn't the bright yellow crayon in the box, more of the golder dull color." Haha so she may be nice, but not super intelligent. He did say she was not stupid though.

i caught the tail end of the show, just as the three finalists were announced and the interview question was being asked. imo, none of the finalists really answered the question but i felt like the winner came closest to answering it. of course, i have no idea how she did during the rest of the competition.
oh and i think it takes a lot of heart and grace and dedication to compete in a pageant. i remember when a fellow st'er who no longer posts was training for one and she was a total sweetheart who showed amazing persistence and devotion. so anyway, i'm glad miss oklahoma won and i'm sure she worked hard to do so.
i think the plastic look is just because she's wearing really heavy makeup. i didn't watch, though, so i don't have any comments beyond that. except that i love french fries with ranch dressing, too, and if i ate it as much as i wanted to, i would be as large as a barn.
All I want to know is how in the heck she did her eye makeup - i think it looks fabulous.
I saw her on Regis & Kelly & I was mweh as I always am with Ms America. Her crown was so wobbley I just wanted to hold it on for her. You'd think they would make those crowns curved to fit a normal head, wouldn't you?
