I'm thinking about another trip to NYC maybe sometime near the summer.  I LOVE NYC and I haven't been back in over a year.   Any suggestions for new places to try and visit?  I've already been to quite a few of the usual touristy stops but any/all suggestions are welcome!


 


Oh, and any affordable hotel recommendations?  In Manhattan and near subway stops preferably.

The next time I go to NYC, I plan on getting completely lost in the Lower East Side and in Brooklyn.


I booked a room at the Gershwin Hotel through www.quikbooks.com (dc recommended the site on FH and later ST a lot). They're located in the Flatiron District, which is about five blocks away from Herald Square (hugs subway hub) and also near the 4,5, and 6 lines (which take you up to Grand Central). I paid $143 for a Superior room for one night. The only thing I would advise is to, uh...not put all your beauty stuff on any glass shelves int he bathroom...my BFF and I tried to do that and broke it by accident (they were really nice about it though).

i love the east village.

next month we are going into the city and staying at the sheraton four points chelsea. it was only $205 and looks pretty cool, good location near subway too. i'll let you know what it's like after the trip.
