Rumors are circulating that wedding plans for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have been put on hold after reportedly tense holidays spent at Holmes’ house. According to Life & Style Weekly, Cruise “decided to take the opportunity to mend fences with the family of his fiancée.” But things didn’t go so well.
“Tom and Katie ended up leaving — three days earlier than planned,” according to a close friend. “Katie was in tears, but that’s standard when it comes to dealing with family matters and Tom.” Another friend said “My honest opinion is that the wedding’s not going to happen. Neither one of them seems as enthusiastic as they once did about marriage.”
Well, short of playing a coke-fueled game of "nipple-tickle" before a live audience, I don't think it's possible to seem more enthusiastic than they once did. Maybe they're just tired. Maybe Tom's tired of touching breasts that don't belong to an inflatable Meatloaf doll. Maybe Katie's tired of dressing in flannel during sex. And wearing a fake beard. And talking like a trucker.
that's really funny. i don't mean to offend anyone, but i was reading a little bit out of one of the books that L. Ron Hubbard wrote about scientology and it was all really wierd to me. i allways thought that their a little bit of their relationship was fueled by katie being star struck that tom cruise wanted to date her and his having a midlife crisis and once she noticed what a wierdo he really is it would get really old. i don't know if that makes any sense. they made fun of him on southpark and it was so funny. if you ever see the episode on you should check it out.

That SouthPark ep was hysterical. "just come out of the closet Tom noone's going to be angry" hysterical.

agreed - SP rules!!! I heard that story on the radio -they must have read it exactly from what you posted. I wonder how much of that is true, but it does seem believable. My parents wouldn't be thrilled....

good luck ever finding that episode again...apparently south park/comedy central/paramount is bending to pressure and threats quite a bit this year (they also pulled and promised to never rerun an episode about the Pope):
Tom Cruise has reportedly stopped an episode of South Park that mocks him from being aired in Britain. The show, in which Nicole Kidman and Cruise's fellow Scientologist John Travolta are depicted attempting to coax an animated version of the actor out of a closet caused controversy when broadcast in the US. The cartoon Kidman tells Cruise, "Don't you think this has gone on long enough? It's time for you to come out of the closet. You're not fooling anyone." - referring to allegations about Cruise's sexuality. According to TheRegister.co.uk, Paramount has agreed not to show the episode again, after Cruise complained. A source tells the site, "Tom is famously very litigious and will go to great lengths to protect his reputation. Tom was said not to like the episode and Paramount just didn't dare risk showing it again. It's a shame that UK audiences will never see it because it's very funny."

That SP ep was hilarious! I'm going to try and dl it so I can still watch it when Tom and his Rabid Scientologist Lawyers get it banned from Comedy Central.
I can't remember which sci-fi author it was, but I remember reading that Scientology was started because L. Ron Hubbard bet a fellow sci-fi author that he could start a religion.
