I know this is a long shot, but I'm hoping someone will have a magical website that will sell me a ticket to London for like $200. I have three friends that are over there right now and I really want to go visit for a long weekend in March. The cheapest tickets I've found are around $400+. Anyone have a special trick or know of a really cheap sale?
ETA: Sorry, from Boston. I didn't mention that. Also probably either Thurs-Mon or Wed-Sun.
I wish I knew of something! I was hoping I could find a cheap flight and meet my bf in London for a long weekend but after taxes and fees everything winds up being over $400. I'll let you know if I happen upon a great deal.
Yeah, they're real tricky. When I follow it through it tells me around $480. Jerks. When I was looking at going this fall tickets were like $200. I should've gone then. Ugh, I really want to go but I want a ticket that's less than $400.
It's the taxes and fees that are making everything really expensive. If you look on Travelocity they have those fares listed for British Air as well as a few that are a bit cheaper but the final price of everything I've found for March is around $400. Sooo frustrating!
I can't get a good deal on US Air either, it's telling me like $560. Plus they only fly to Gatwick not Heathrow and are asking me to stop in NC and Vegas. WTF?
$400 sounds cheapish to me. i spent like $900 on a trip to france, and later everyone told me that i coulda flown for $400. i was so mad- thats a nice bag right there! i wonder if you can find $400 on british air- i LOVE that carrier. it was such a nice flight. i actually enjoyed my meals and the worchestire pretzels are delish.

Sorry Maddie, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. A few years ago it was definitely possible to get tickets for under $400 - even under $300 - in the winter but I guess taxes and fees have increased a lot. The two times I went to Venice in March I got tickets for under $375. I guess that's never going to happen again.
