the new oil of olay clarity cleansers are great. i have been using them for a month and a half now and i love them. i use the foaming cleanser and the scrub. but it is oil of olay so i wouldn't expect something that sucked. i love all of their products and they have been around forever so they must be doing something right.
I like Aveeno for drugstore skincare. When I was in college, I asked the esthetician that did my eyebrows which brand I should go for and she said Aveeno is really good for the skin.
why dont you by the smallest size of philosophy ($10 i think) and use the tiniest amount or dilute it with water. you might regret the switch and pay for it later, making it twice as expensive. i have the $20 size and i use so little that i think it'll last me over a year.
i second the purpose rec--it's good stuff and very gentle. there's also a nice bigelow one at bath & body works (called gentle foaming cleanser, but it has exactly 0% foam) that is just a bit more.
I'd recommend Purpose or Aveeno too. I used Purpose for a while- it was really gentle and removed makeup, but then I switched to Aveeno cleanser when I started breaking out and it's really helped a lot.
