I picked up 4 heart-shaped Le Crouset ramekins @ T.J.Maxx today. Anyone have some recipes for me?  Thank you

The only one I use is creme brulee.  It is super easy and most of the recipes out there are very similar, but if you want, I can post my recipe when I get home.

^^^ Sure if it's not too much trouble. I guess creme brulee and souffle(sp?) are the most common uses for ramekins?

I saw some sort of bread pudding recipe that used on epicurious around x-mas and now I can't find it(it used ramekins).

I'd like to hear more ideas if anyone has anything(esp. savory dishes)

I would've said Creme Brulee also (my fave). However, I did a quick search on epicurious.com (old trusty) for "ramekin" and came up with these. I picked my favorites :) Have fun with your cute ramekins!

I've made individual servings of apple crisp and berry cobbler in ramekins. You can pretty much use them to serve anything as well, mashed potatoes, vegetables, pudding, mousse, etc.

Ok, after spending the past week searching for my recipe, I just cannot find it.  I still have some unpacked boxes from when I moved this summer so I thought maybe it was in there...but no.  So I think it got mixed up in my old roommates recipes and we aren't really on speaking terms anymore.

But the recipe is pretty basic.  Mostly just eggs, cream, and sugar, so I am sure if you just did an internet search for the recipe, you could find a good one.

Sorry to keep you hanging.

That's what I was going to suggest! Molten cakes have got to be by far the best use of ramekins... mmmm.... (Oh! and I would try it with a raspberry coulis- my fave combo, rich chocolate and raspberries!!)

Same here!  My first thought when I saw this thread was molten chocolate cakes..I remember seeing molten chocolate cake mixes at Williams Sonoma a while ago, but I'm not sure if they would still have them..

Miss Callie What is a coulis? I've seen the word before, it's a sauce right? Do you have a particular recipe that you like?

okie dokie...here's the individual ziti recipe...i haven't actually tried it yet, but it sounds really yummy

Lasagna-Style Baked Ziti

1  pound ziti
1  tablespoon olive oil
1  large yellow onion, diced
3/4  teaspoon kosher salt
1/4  teaspoon black pepper
1  pound lean ground beef
3  cloves garlic, minced
1/2  cup chopped fresh oregano (optional)
1  26-ounce jar pasta sauce
1/2  cup (2 ounces) grated Parmesan
1  15-ounce container ricotta
1  10-ounce box frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed to remove liquid
1  cup grated mozzarella

Cook the ziti according to the package instructions.

Heat oven to 400° F.

In a large pot, over medium-low heat, heat the oil. Add the onion, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook until the onion is softened, 5 to 7 minutes. Add the beef, increase heat to medium-high, and cook until no trace of pink remains, 5 to 8 minutes. Drain any remaining liquid. Add the garlic and oregano (if using) and cook for 2 minutes. Add the pasta sauce and heat for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. Add the Parmesan, ricotta, and spinach and toss again. Spread the mixture into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish or individual ramekins and sprinkle with the mozzarella. Bake until the mozzarella melts, about 15 minutes.

Tip: If you prefer, substitute Italian sausage for the ground beef and chopped broccoli for the spinach.

Yield: Makes 4 servings
