I would like a bedframe thats just simple like so- so that it doesn't take any space from the room on the sides. maybe without wheels but something like this:
but i don't want it to be so low!!! under my bed is seriously the only storage space i'll have- so i want something plain- and maybe 1.5 feet high? and cheap. WHY is this so hard to find???? seems obvious. i know it would make my bed a little high but it would be worth it. i don't want to loft my bed or anything.
get a normal bed frame... i think they all have wheels, and then go to bed bath and beyond and buy bed lifts.. they create tons of space under your bed (but if you have a thick mattress, will make it really high!)
Tall Black Bed Lifts™
Give your bed an extra lift with these practical bed elevators. Available in sets of four, they'll raise your bed by 7". Simply attach to bottom of bed posts and you'll instantly have more storage under your bed. Each block is 8" H and fits up to 3" casters or posts. Made of high density molded plastic.
I'm at college, living in the dorms and a lot of people bring in bed raisers if they can't move the mattress on the frame (we have special beds). Some make wooden blocks or use cinder blocks to raise it as far as they want.
hey lynnie - those basic frames have i think a pretty standard height, which is why they make those bed raiser things, which are your best bet - i'm about to get some myself!
I just got some bed lifts for my bed frame (purchased them at bed bath and beyond). I love it now - I have so much room for underbead storage and I think having my bed a little higher off the ground looks a thousand times better.
usually they give you those simple metal bedframes for free when you buy a mattress, so that may be why they are hard to find on their own. maybe try a discount mattress store (i think you guys have sleepys in NY) and maybe see if they'd sell you a separate one for cheap.
