Robertson Suggests Stroke Is Divine Rebuke

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 5 (AP) - The Protestant broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for "dividing God's land."


"God considers this land to be his," Mr. Robertson said on "The 700 Club," his television program. "You read the Bible and he says, 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.' "


Mr. Robertson said he had prayed about a year ago with Mr. Sharon, whom he called "a very tenderhearted man and a good friend." He said he was sad to see Mr. Sharon in his current medical condition.


But he also said that in the Bible, the prophet Joel "makes it very clear that God has enmity against those who 'divide my land.' "


Mr. Sharon "was dividing God's land, and I would say woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease" the European Union, the United Nations or the United States, Mr. Robertson said.

pat robertson is such a freak.

I caught a rerun of Jon Stewart's show last night where he took on Robertson- it was absolutely hysterical (comments about how God was force feeding Sharon knishes...).  If you got to http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/the_daily_show/videos/headlines/index.jhtml , you can catch a clip.

Yeah, Jon Stewart went to town with that one... very funny. 


Honestly, I just laugh at most everything he says now, because it's so ridiculous, but then again I get a little creeped out by how many people watch his show and think the way he does.  (Sorry, was talking about Pat Robertson there, not Jon Stewart)

either leno or letterman made a comment  last night about if the stroke was a message to sheron.. then what was he saying about the prostate problems robertson had a while back, Payback for being such a pain in the @$$. It made me giggle.
