The Longhorn Invasion was hilarious out here. I went shopping at Century City on Tuesday with a friend and it was absolutely impossible to navigate the food court at 2:30 PM because everyone there was a Longhorn in for the game. I was seriously expecting everyone to whip out some Blue Bell Ice Cream from their pockets.
As for the game? Ummmmmmm....grrrrr...to make matters worse, my BF is a Longhorn too and was tickled to death about all of them being here.
Well, both years I was at SC we were national champs at least. I guess you Longhorn people can have it this year.
I live in LA and went to UT for undergrad and was DYING to go to the game but I refused to pay $1000 for a ticket (that's how much a just-OK seat was going for!). Now I wish I had gone - the game was incredible, probably the best game I've ever watched.
Texas ... FIGHT!!
eta: i changed my avator in honor of my beloved longhorns!

Not that I'm trying to start anything but I do recall as an LSU fan that USC was not in the Championship Game in 2004. That would be LSU and Oklahoma therefore USC was not the "real" National Champion just the media champion as the picture below depicts.
Yes I believe that would be LSU , then USC, then UT Lilykind! Its ok though I'll still talk to you on here

Texas has the largest fan base in the US. Random fact I found out Monday night during the OSU vs. Notre Dame game...
When Texas came to Buckeye land to play at the begining of the season it was the same way in Columbus- you couldn't go anwhere without running into Longhorns! Of course, the Buckeyes weren't too nice to them!
You are really quiet today about that TEXAS WIN last night. Did you sleep through the game?
Are you kidding??? I was so psyched! I wanted to post about it on here but I figured if no one else posted, there wouldn't be too many college football fans on this forum. I guess I was wrong.
It was such a fabulous game! I've been watching UT football since I was a little girl (we actually bribe my little nephew to throw the horns up at family events) and I am so freakin' happy and excited that they won! I have been saying all last year and this year that Vince Young can pass, so there to all the naysayers! (I have one in mind but he's not on ST so I guess it doesn't really matter.)
Every bar/restaurant in Austin was packed Wednesday night with everyone watching the game. We left 2nd quarter so we could actually get home (I live near campus) and so we could hear the end of the game (hard to hear in public places). The town was crazy. The sports apparel shops (including Academy) opened up as soon as the game was over and I think there are still lines.
The Tower is lit up and it's so beautiful. Here's a pic:
My mom now answers the phone "Go Longhorns!" She's such a dork. ... I think I'll start doing it too.
