I bought my most expensive purchase this year....at 29...I bought a Cole Haan black bag....love it...it was $330...I knew how much money I was going to get for the holidays so I would not feel too guily about the bag....but I use it everyday and it is classic and I can have it for years
i bought my husband a pair of $300 pumas in september, but would never spend that much on a pair of shoes for myself. I think the most I've spent is $100 for a pair of christian loubatin shoes and probably $125 for a dress and $95 for a Eugenia Kim hat.
My husband bought me a speedy 30 in italy over the summer and a pair of l.k. bennett boots for 199 pounds in london last month.
I'm thrifty aka cheap when it comes to clothes for myself. I always think I can get it cheaper, and there's usually a sample sale out there that proves me right.
Hmm, I bought a JCrew winter coat for $320 one this year, so that's my most expensive item. Oh, and I'm 23 right now. My most expensive handbag is the Handmaid one which (thanks to discount) I got for $200.
I'm 26 and I have to say the most expensive things I have paid for are for other people. A Dooney & Bourke bag for my BFF when I was 23 or 24 and started a real job after college. Also a Coach purse (about $365) for my mom. I usually barain shop for myself, even on designer items - I will get them if they are at a great deal but not full price 98% time.
That being said - my most expensive things I have:
My car - MB C23 Kompressor sedan (from Parents - well first year and a half of payments)
LV purse (from Dad) $600 and LV wallet (from BFF) I think $350 or so?
Coach signature classic overnighter tote (BFF) est. $600
2 Long Coat Chihuahuas (BF) $650 & $600
Laptop (mom) $1100
iPod video (BF) $300
but i hate to spend over $150 on myself - but would for those I love. At this age - I still think it is kind of extravagant (my tastes) when people like my parents and BFF are working so hard and spend so little on themselves.
