So, as some of you may know or have picked up from my posts, I gave two weeks notice at my old job on December 12. My last day there was last Friday, the 23rd.
I had an interview this past Tuesday for an assistant production accounting position (accounting for TV shows/movies/etc.) and they called me on Wednesday to hire me.
best part: 20% pay increase from my old job.
another best part: the people at my new job are so nice...so much nicer than the people at my old job ever were.
other best part: dress code on productions is 99.999999% of the time CASUAL!
Wow... Lilykind! I am so happy for you. Sounds like it is a better opportunity for you and What a great way to start the new year!
Thanks for keeping us posted.

Which company will you be at? I have a couple of friends in accounting at some big companies too! Switched to a really casual company last year too! Jeans and flip flops A-Ok everyday! makes work so much better!
lsubatgirl, I start at the company offices on Jan. 16th and will be learning how to input things into the accounting systems. I'll also be learning how to do payroll, AP, petty cash, PO's, and be learning how to read cost reports and budgets. To start off with, I'll also be doing lots of filing. Dress code is business casual, but not for long. When production on the shows begin, I'll be transferred out and sit with the production and wear crappy clothes everyday!
