So I have an Ipod Nano and I was going to get the Itrip thing (fm transmitter). Well I just got a new car. I saw online the ipod adapter thingy that goes into the glove dept and actually plugs into the Iped connector. I did not get that though because it comes with a mp3 player jack that you plug into. The thing is It looks like a plug for the head phones (skinny hole for the silver part of the headphone plug) Will this work for my Ipod or do I need the glove dept one, or is there just a special cable I need to buy. Help, If you give me too many technical things I overload.
I think I'm understanding you correctly, so here's what I know -
The adapter thing that connects your ipod to the face of your car stereo give inferior sound quality compared to the cable that is run from the back of the stereo. The cable that installs to the back gives CD quality sound, while the face adapter give radio quality sound. You'll have to have your stereo removed and the cable installed at a place that works with car electronics.
HTH!
