i was sooo excited to get them cuz i'm a sucker for infomercials. i had my parents get the "as seen on tv" space bags not the cheapo walmart, bb&b ones.
well, they suck. it saves SOME space, but not like on tv. i'm sooo disappointed.
booo. booo. booo.
here's what they promise...
not really flat like a pancake! pretty dang bulky.
i feel like such a sucker.

hahaha! aww, sorry they didn't work so good. i don't think they look that bad though- looks like you could squish things down a tad with the amazing "space" bag.
i'm glad you reviewed these- i wonder about infomercial products a lot- i wonder if there is a website that only reviews stuff from infomercials.
I used something like this when I moved all of my clothes to the east coast for college. They worked fine, but the problem was that it allowed me to pack SO MUCH STUFF into my bag that it ended up weighing a ton! And then since I didn't have a vacuum in my dorm (gross, I know) I couldn't save the space when I went back home that year and ended up having to store and ship it all back to the west coast.
That's too bad... I have a spinoff question if anyone knows the answer. If you use them for travelling, what happens if the airport people want to search your luggage?

i know that they have the resealable zipper thingy, so they can open it, it just will have the air, but since that much space was not saved by sucking out the air with the vaccum, it's really not going to matter too much if they search your bag.
the only good thing about these bags are that they are supposedly waterproof, and since i am now storing them under my bed, i don't really care that much if they save space (i just know now not to buy the ones that are hanging as they won't save space in my closet, which is where i really need it).
for the record, my bf and i bought some cheap ones for camping and they were great for storing smelly moldy clothes. we got them from walmart. the space bags are a step up, but in no way leave your clothes as flat as they claim they will on their website...
