refusing a UPS shipment

How do you refuse a UPS shipment if they leave it on your porch while you are gone?  I just purchased something from anthropologie and they told me they could not cancel the order,  but to just refuse the shipment and I would get my money back and would not incur any return shipping costs.  I have never done this before that I can remember.

Their website certainly doesn't make it easy to find this, but I dug and it says "If you are not present and it is left for you, take it, unopened, to a UPS facility and indicate that you refuse the delivery."
