Good memories from 2005?
Permalink Closed

I am so thankful that this year was really good for me!!!

My family and friends are in good health. I made a lot of new friends.

And I dont know but I feel like this year I thought a lot about my life and life in general. I really am trying to be a little more laid back and more caring and wait for things to happen on its own.

I am excited for the new year to come and I hope it brings me some great suprises!!

i don't have many good memories of 2005 except we started the adoption process in Janaury of 05.

my hubby makes me laugh til it hurts and we have some great friends.

Everything else has been rough and we can't wait to move to Chicago (hopefully) and get out of the madness here.

I really began to appreciate myself this year as cheesy as that sounds.

I had some life changing travel experiences.

I met a few life changing people.

I had a lot of really good stuff happen this year:

-become best friends with a girl I met last year. It's crazy how similar we are and we get along so well. It's great!
-went to the Bahamas
-had my parents come visit me in DC for the first time (they were hard set againts coming until I was married, since I lived with my FH) to go to my graduation ceremony
-finished my MA
-got married
-felt happier with life then I ever have. I am much more grounded and feel like I have a place in the world.

This year has been the first in a looooooooooooooooooong time where things didn't dramatically change, and it's kinda nice to have some stability going.  I'm in the same job, I didn't move this year, like I had the past...oh....six years, and hubby and I are still doing great.

I guess this year will be remembered for the stability.  Also, we were finally able to travel together, since we had some money to work with finally!  We went to Michigan and San Diego to visit family and spent a ton of time at the lake over the summer.

Professionally, I published a 1,000 page book, which was really exciting.  Hard, but rewarding.

This year I found my way over to Style Thread too, which has been a great addition to my life!  I love it over here.

Not many, I'm afraid. I've been thinking that I am really ready for 2006. This year has been a tough one, both personally and professionally.

I am grateful that we went to AZ twice and I got to see my family and friends.

We have a roof over our heads and food to put on the table.

I have met some wonderful new friends this year.

ST brings me a lot of laughter and joy - you girls are so great - as well as fashion inspiration.

I've met a whole new group of friends that I really get along well with.  It's so nice and refreshing to have friends who respect your decisions and care about you after having "friends" who exclude you from everything and don't seem to care all that much.

I became a lot more involved in my faith which has helped me tremendously.

It's my last year at home so it's sort of bittersweet.

This year has been mostly about two things. The first is getting closer to my bf family wise. Both of our parents met this spring and again for Thanksgiving. A few months ago he went to China with me. He met my extended family, but more importantly, got to see where my roots are. We really bonded so I am very thankful.

The second is about applying for business school. I started studying in Spring and then most of fall was consumed by essays. I am glad that I actually made it through the tough process while working, since I know I can be a lazy ass.

i am definitely glad that this year will be over soon. it's been loooonnnggg.

i'm happy that i finally figured out what i wanted to do with my life.  i always had an idea, but having to write it down for grad school makes it seem much more concrete and attainable.

i have people in my life who get me, even if they don't "get" all of me, it's nice to know that i'm not totally crazy. this really hit home today b/c i've had such a tumultous month. i was talking to my co-worker about one aspect of it which to most sane people would seem totally ridiculous but she understood, and she shared a similar experience with me that made me laugh so hard i cried.

my family believes in me, more than i believe in myself. i'm a bit sentimental (and it's not pms related) and my brothers in particular have been really helpful and encouraging. again it's nice to have someone in your corner.

and most importantly this year is over, and soon (fingers crossed) i'll be able to quit my hellish job, and close a chapter in my life that i am done with.

Overall, it was a very good year for me.  Some of the highlights:

Two of our closest friends got married (to each other!) this summer.  It was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to.  All of our best-est friends were there, and everyone stayed at the same inn for 3 nights.  It was a giant slumber party.  We all cried when it was over because we realized it was the last wedding for our group of friends (we're all hitched!).

DH and I made some major life decisions this year about starting a family and moving away from the east coast.  Big happenings coming in 2006!

I love California and Arizona, and I got to spend lots of time in both places thanks to work and some fun vacations.
