Is it possible for new members to be on moderated status? I'm inordinately bothered by the spam, particularly when they bring up 7-year-old-posts that should remain buried for the privacy of members.
I'll volunteer to moderate and approve posts from new members. No spammer gets by me.

I'm sorry the moderation of the forum has not met your expectations. I usually pop my head in once a day to manage the spam. While the spam we do receive can be annoying, we are fortunate that we seldom experience bot floods or porn spam.
The nature of a forum lends itself to contributor anonymity, and it is commonly understood when information is posted on a forum it becomes public. While some members may know the identity of other members, personal identity of members is not common or public knowledge unless the member decides to share this information in their profile.
The best solution to reduce the ratio of spam to quality content is to start more threads and increase contributions to existing threads! Looking forward to seeing more of your quality contributions to the forum!
