I guess the straight answer is that she is an actress and filmed Alfie with Jude Law. I think that's how they met and she became a lot more famous for dating him. She is also known for her style sense, she was doing the whole boho thing before it became huge last summer.

I have wondered the same thing. I think that some actresses star in one big movie, then just get a lot of press and show up to everything, therefore they become famous. Or, maybe it's just because she is hot. If she was mentioned in Maxim or Stuff, that will get the ball rolling, it's crazy.

For years, I was trying to figure out why Bai Ling was famous, then I figured out it's because she shows up every time there are cameras and a red carpet.
