swingers segment on Oprah yesterday

i saw it a while ago, yesterdays show was a repeat. Crazy that people do that huh?

I missed Oprah yesterday, but my parents have friends that are swingers. The woman has obviously had some...ahem..."enhancement" done and she comes to every cookout and pool party in these racy little numbers that always crack me up. And her husband is...so...gross. He wears these short shorts ALL THE TIME and I'm always so nervous that something's going to slip out of them. It's horrible. But they're kinda like a train wreck--you know it's terrible but you can't not look. Anyway, I have it in my head they are what all swinger couples look like, even though that's probably not the case at all.

I watched it. What disturbed me more was the women on it in the beginning that were having affairs. I'm sorry, but rather than have an affair, maybe you should seek marriage counseling first, or get a divorce. It made me sick that some of these women were saying they deserved to have an affair. And that blonde lady that said her lover caught her up by having flowers delivered to the house - and that she pleaded for her husband to stay w/her? WHY??? She was so unhappy w/him, she had an affair, yet she wanted him to stay w/her? WTF!

I saw it, but last year sometime, this was an old repeat, that Newsweek article they talked about was ridiculous too, I read it in my office last year and was grossed out.

I feel like the show and the article spreads a misconception this way, she made it sound like mostly suburban couples are into this...like we can go ahead and start suspecting our neighbors if you live in the suburbs. Give me a break, it's not that common, I have actually known some swingers and they did not fit the mold. I have also heard an account from someone who accidentally went to a swingers club (a popular one, and not a dirty one) her account of the clientele, while most appeared to have lots of money and great careers....well, they don't typically look like your pretty yuppie couple, I'll just say. I personally thought the couple on the show looked freaky myself, but I am kind of judgmental.

Hahaha...actually YES! You're in luck!!! They are in NC and they're in the Charlotte area too! I'll bet you had no idea when you woke up this morning that it was going to be your lucky day!!!
