London (again)

Someone else posted about London in April. Now I'm posting about London in October. Not worried about the weather, but I do have questions about neighborhoods.

DH and I would like to rent a 1br flat for a week in London in late October.

We are trying to decide on neighborhoods.

We want somewhere that is not overrun with people but not dead either. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Close to tube station. Somewhat centrally located. Wouldn't mind being near a park.

Any suggestions?

I've never been to London. DH has, but it has been over 10 years since he has been there, and I think he stayed with a friend last time. Thanks!

I stayed in Kensington when I was there a few years ago (in a hotel.) There were shops and places to eat. Kensington Gardens was lovely. Everything was very walkable and I felt safe in that area, but it wasn't the most exciting place to be. It seemed like a livable area and not too touristy.

I always stay in Paddington (1 block from Paddington station) and I love it there

Hey! Probably layers/light coat, scarfs. But I'm not here to advice on clothes, but just to express my envy and wish you the best time in this magical city! Much fun and great memories!
