So I have about 7 different lists on my facebook, however, I hate how content does not feed into my 'Newsfeed' only on my specific lists. I want to read everyone's updates so I have to click into each list that I have, in addition to my newsfeed.
Can anyone explain the use of lists versus the newsfeed? Am I doing it wrong? I feel like an idiot but it seems like some random few posts show up in my Newsfeed and if I don't check my lists then I miss the real posts.
Hmm, yes, I think you're doing it wrong but I'm far from a power user so take that with a grain of salt. If I click a list on the left, it only shows me posts from that list. When I click the "home" link at the top right, it goes back to showing me everything. Well, not everything. It shows me posts from whoever the FB gods want me to see based on their mystery algorithms.
I'm also not one of facebooks best users, but if you click on the arrow to the right of someone, you can choose if you see all their updates, most or only important (however, I don't know how someone would mark their message as important, or if that is up to algorythm too.)
I was noticing I would see something if I looked in a list, but hadn't noticed it in my feed, and it seems to have helped, however you can only do it when someone has posted, so if you have firends that don't post often, it won't fix its self quickly. Also, you can't adjust this for pages you have liked.

Yes - you can either have Liked Pages' posts land in your feed or not.
I don't use lists, but it is still a constant thing to make sure what I'm seeing is the News Feed with everything on it in reverse chronological order. Sometimes, it just changes without notice.
Some of my friends have opted to not have their content land in my News Feed. So, if I want to see what they've posted, I have to go to their profile and look at their wall.
