Was it not odd that England included models and fashion brands in the closing ceremony for the olympics? Seemed like a chamber of commerce commercial to me when they started rolling out the clothing brands... 

Were they trying to position themselves as top producers of women that can model clothes? I just thought the whole thing was weird. What do you think?

I took it as a way to celebrate England's contribution to fashion as well as music. I can see what they were going for, I don't think it really worked. The models didn't do anything. There was a huge build up with the billboard vans driving around the track, the big revel that the models were actually there in shiny, gold medal clothes and then....they just walked off stage?

It would have made more sense to have one of each of the models on stage with each band. I mean, could you imagine having Kate Moss in that dress zipping around the stadium with The Pet Shop Boys in those weird cone outfits? And have that male model (whoever the heck he was) on the pirate ship with Annie Lenox?

Any one else notice the absence of a Stella McCarthy piece of clothing in the segment?

On the other hand, it was a closing ceremorny which had the Kaiser Chiefs sing Pinball Wizard instead of The Who, who were IN THE ACTUAL BUILDING???????????????confuse  Um, why not have The Who sing their own song?  You know, since they were there and all.

Ditto, ditto, ditto.

I think your idea to incorporate them into the acts would have been better -- similar to how they incorporated Allesandra (sp?) in the Brazilian portion.

Yeah, where was Stella?

The whole Who thing totally confused me -- why on earth would they use a cover band when they were there? Weird.
