oxford shoe -recs? how to avoid big foot/squat syndrome?
Permalink Closed

So- over the past few years Ive been hunting for an oxford shoe but somehow have not yet pulled the trigger. I am a size 8.5/9, and dont want the shoe to make my feet look huge or my legs to look too 'squat' (pear shape)

any recs?

so far considering:

1) Dieppa Restrepo Breezy cali

2) Dieppa Restrepo Cali

3) Dieppa Restrepo dina

3) Steve Madden Jazie (lOVE the colored soles, but questionable quality level)

I like #1. I think the lower vamp and light color will help it not make your feet seem big.

I really like #1 too. I agree with Kelly.

Loved # 3, 4 & 5! Especially Steve Madden's, however, I'm not a big fan of his quality. But, the colorful sole is interesting...I like classis design with the twist.

#3 is so interesting. Love that pair. #5 is nice too.
As long as you wear them with the complementary clothing, they'll look great on you!

Another vote for #1. I'm not a huge fan of oxfords, so take anything I say with a grain of salt. In my opinion, if you're not careful with the shape and coloring they can easily look more orthopedic than menswear. The first pair works for me because of the nude color and low vamp. I also think that if you plan on wearing these barelegged with dresses or skirts the nude color and low vamp will help elongate your leg, which should also help make you feet look proportional.
