same as you, swimming and diving, gymnatics and track and field. Hubby will want to catch the weightlifting events too, whichi s fine with me.

I have been workingo n clearing out the dvr so I can record it and just watch what suits me. I love the Olympics!

The only thing I watch is soccer. Which has mysteriously already started. Even though the Olympics start tomorrow. I do not understand this.

Bottom line is the Olympics are already annoying me. Also if the Olympics keep crashing Twitter, I will be even more annoyed.

I was looking forward to the opening ceremony, but didn't like it...It went very much off side thematically, I expected more...Now I'm looking forward to the closing ceremony, George Michael, my 1st love:) ( I know, I know...) is supposed to be performing...Yeah, totally!

Jordyn Wieber is from my home town. She is the world gymnastics champion, and was a gold medal hopeful. She failed to qualify, and it is so incredibly sad.

I'm not sure I'll watch much of the olympics now -- I really wanted to watch her :(

ETA: Jordyn, as part of team usa won gold! I didn't realize they compete as a team also. She really deserves that gold medal and it's so nice to see her walk away with one

I was disappointed in the opening ceremonies too. I expected so much more from Danny Boyle. Maybe they should have gotten a theater director to produce it? As much as I dislike Andrew Lloyd Webber, imagine what he could have come up with?

I was so disappointed for Jordyn Wieber too. But that's kind of the drama of the games. Sometimes you fall short of your expectations. The real test is to see if she can refocus and give it her all to help the team win (and I really think she can do this. The girl has grit in her blood.)

I stopped watching last night when the men's gymnastic team fell apart. I figured that I had seen Missy Franklin win her first individual gold and that was as good as it was going to get last night. But then I tuned back after a bit and was able to see Great Britain, the under dog of under dogs, win the first gymnastic medal for British men in 100 years. Sometimes it doesn't matter whose country the athletes are from. Being able to witness a group of athletes pull it together and achieve something that nobody really thought they could is just as satisfying as watching your own countrymen win a medal.

I agree - so fun to see the underdogs win!

As for Jordyn -- I couldn't even imagine how crushing not being able to go for the individual gold must have been. If you think about it, she has devoted her life to gymnastics, and it's not like she can go try again in 4 years -- this is pretty much her only chance. So happy she has a gold medal to come home with now.
