I had a $10 certificate GAP that exprired on Saturday so I had to find something to spend it on. T-shirts, I know, how exciting. Why is it so difficult to find something that fits or at least decently made at the GAP?
I know... i have been in the usa for 10 days and was very disappointed in gap, jcrew, and anthro. I have the feeling theta got worse over the last 5-6 usarsi. Is that right?
Yep. They've all raised their prices and lowered their quality (JCrew is the worst at this IMO) I've had that certificate in my wallet since probably January. It used to be that I could go to the mall and have to carefully choose between a bunch of items that I wanted because I couldn't afford everything. Now, I usually come home empty handed more often than not.
This summer I'm shopping my closet for the most part. I don't know where in the US you are, but if you have a Nordstrom or Bloomingdales near by your hotel, try there. They usually have nice stuff because they're department stores and can cull from an array of brands. It you have a Nordstrom Rack near you, check that out too. I think it's great for jeans and shoes.
And a black knit drapeneck tunic with ruching on the hips for $7. I cannot find a photo of it, but it's not that hard to visualize. This was all from Ross, which is like TJ Maxx etc. but a little cheaper, a little less brandy.

I've been using a sample from Sephora and really like them, however Amazon has them for around $7 cheaper plus free shipping and no tax. Guess where I bought them from?

Boots are you using these nightly? Is there an AHA in them? I need to start a real skin care routine, but I want something easy.
The Peter Thomas Roth pads are quite strong. When I had them I used them like 3 times a week or so. You have the choice to either keep the solution on the skin or to rinse off after 10 minutes, if I recall correctly. I would definitely use them only at night and be sure to be extra diligent on the sunscreen during the day. If you're looking for a great exfoliator, these are good.
I got serious about my skincare last year. I've been using a mandelic peel once a week and alternating between 30 % lactic and 30% Glycolic peels every week. I also use a Vitamin C + E serum every morning and evening. I need to stress that when using a chemical peel, it's extremely important to use them correctly and for the recommended amount of time (which varies from person to person, but shorter is always better than longer time-wise.)
The PTR UnWrinkle Peels are weaker than the chemical peels I've been using. I'm almost done with the sample I got from Sephora (she gave me enough for a little over a week.) I've been using them after I wash my face in the evening, but not on the same day that I do a different chemical peel. They're basically for exfoliation since I've stopped using manual exfoliates (like scrubs.) I cut the pads in half and use the half pad on my face and then on my hands. You leave them on for 1-5 minutes then rinse with water. I follow up with my Vit C serum and them a good moisturizer.
I took advantage of the 25% off anthro sale promo.
I couldn't figure out which color of this top I wanted, so I bought both with the intention of returning one (but if the reviews are any indication, I may end up keeping both!)

White denim shorts in an odd length from Macy's low-end Style & Co. brand. New, $7. I will make them into shorter shorts for summer lounging and dog walking.
And three sleeveless tops for $4 each
- Gray thin rayon racerback tank in the trendy high in front/low in back shape, really loose and lightweight, never worn/washed, feels like a higher-end item although the brand is unknown to me (Pica? Pico? something like that)
- Light pink Target surplice yoga tank, brand new with tags still (I broke my own rule and bought something in a color!)
- Black/white abstract large pattern Kenneth Cole drape-neck top. It isn't new, but it's a heavy polyester and in good shape. And with that, I think I own a month's worth of black/white print tops.
Lodge cast iron grill pan from Crate & Barrel. I used it last night to make some fries and I love it. I can't wait to try out all sorts of vegetables on it.
And some bras from the Nordstrom sale (I won't bore you with photos of that.) Anyone else underwhelmed by the offerings there this year?
