I leave the house all fine & dandy, lips looking all good, and I'll say about late morning/early afternoon, here comes the chapping! I've tried dang near EVERY product there is out there - Carmex, vasaline, Burt's Bees stuff, and they STILL chap. And no - I don't drink a lot of water, I guess to keep them hydrated, but I'm not a HUGE water person, UNLESS it's flavored, and I'm still picky about that. Are there any miracle products out there that I don't know about? Thanks!

The main thing that would help is staying hydrated but I also like Rosebud Salve. You can get it at Sephora. I slather it on at night as well so my lips are protected at night. Also try a humidifier in your room at night. This time of year it's just so dry, that could help.

Hmmm....how much is this Rosebud Salve? I get paid (YIPPEE!) on Thursday, so maybe I'll stop by Sephora this coming weekend. So it's pretty good, huh? I may also invest in a humidifier..... THANKS LADIES!

rosebud salve is $5 and they sell it everywhere (little beauty supply shops, etc.). it works well, but i think there is no cure for chapped lips--i would love to know if anyone really has one. i can't get rid of mine no matter what i do.
Obviously I am going to say stay hydrated. But also, I swear by Mary Kay Satin Lips set...it's and exfoliator and a balm.
yes, staying hydrated is key as the others have said... i also like the MK satin lips but only the scrub... for a balm i use :Chap Stick. it is in a black tube and always by the front registers of Target, Walgreens, etc. it is about $1.50 and it is the best thing i have ever used (and i have used the all!) it is esp. good when you go skiing!
I have to be the lone voice of dissent. Rosebud salve was horribly drying for my lips. My favorite is the new Einsteins lip therapy stuff. You can get it at Pure Beauty, or you can do a search online, and order from the Einsteins site.

I'm with you. I think Rosebud salve is pretty much awful. It's one of those you feel like you constantly need to put on because it does nothing.
I third MK satin lips. I also really like cococare cocoa butter lip balm. 99 cents at walgreens, yellow tube.
flknight24, have you tried the tinted ones or just the regular?
I've only tried the regular and I really can't express how much I love it. I've never had great luck with tinted chapstick which is why I haven't tried the C.O. Bigelow tinted but it might be good.
I hated Rosebud Salve, it dried out my lips in a minute.
Def. try Aquaphor by Eucerin. It comes in a big tube thing, and is pretty much at every drugstore. It looks like Vaseline, in terms of color (or lack of) and consistency, but it is MUCH more moisturizing.
And even if you dont like water, stay hydrated! Maybe try crunching on ice instead of drinking water?
I hope this helps! I have super sensitive lips and they ALWAYS chap and flake off, its horrible. But I have found that Aquaphor really does work.
I have always had pretty dry lips, though they have gotten better over time. I agree with all the girls who recommended water...I probably drink 4 cups of green tea while I'm at work, plus a bottled water at lunch and at least another bottle when I get home. This REALLY helps. If you don't like regular water, Vitamin water is very good and comes in loads of yummy flavors.
I also like Kiehl's tinted lip blam, but I only use it at night because the color is too dark on me. The consistency is great, though. I also love the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine...it's got a great consistency. I get mine at Bath & Body Works.
My BF uses Chapstick in the black tube when his lips get chapped. He refuses to use anything else.
ETA: When I was little, my mom always used Vitamin A&D ointment (it's usually for diaper rash) and that's really the best. I swear it's like Vaseline on steriods.
I've got terrible chapped lips....besides have some sort of lip treatment or balm available in every purse, jacket, and desk drawer, I use vasoline before I go to bed. It seams to help. And its cheap.
I love the Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm. The regular Rosebud salve was kind of yucky smelling. It's also at Sephora. I think it's only a dollar more than the regular one.
Neutrogena Instant Lip Remedy is really moisturizing and during winter months when my lips get severly chapped I run out to get Neutrogena Overnight Lip Treatment, there's nothing that makes it just for night use except it doesnt have sunscreen, its much more emollient and moisturizing.
