I just finished this book for my book club and highly recommend it.  Its a wonderful story about a man who emigrated to the US from Afghanistan and his childhood there.

Hey Alikat, is this one of those books that takes a chapter or two to get good?  I've read the first chapter and a half'ish and haven't picked up in a while.  Maybe I should get this one on audio for the road trip??

Things definitely start to pick up after though overall the book can be contemplative.  There is some action, though, as well.  They are going to make it into a movie soon

I just finished this book, too and it was amazing.  Some parts made me cry right there on the train, but I was so into it that I didn't care.


So they're making a movie?  I hope they don't mess it up!
