I know we just had a post on books but ... my bf and I are going on a road trip tomorrow (to SF for the HM opening!!!!) and I thought we'd get an audio book to listen to on some of the way. So the challenge is finding a book we can both enjoy which neither of us has read.
My favorite book of all time is Memoirs of a Geisha. He likes the davinci code and he also read divine secrets of ya ya sisterhood and liked it (I haven't read either). He'd be willing to listen to chick-lit type books but I'd prefer something with a bit more depth. Thought of getting the Shopaholic and Sis' but want something more fitting for him too. My biggest thing is I like page turners, nothing with so much detail that it puts you to sleep. We're considering the book "Wicked" or "Devil in a white city" --> has anyone read/heard of either one?
I'm really confused about what to get. Any suggestions on any books you think might work for both of us would be very much appreciated.
I'm not sure how you feel about Harry Potter.....not high literature or anything, but I know several adults who are obsessed :)
The books on cd are excellent. I think Jim Dale even won a few Grammy awards for his narration of them. I was always busy in school and never had time to pleasure read, but whenever I took long trips, I popped one in. There were several times where I would sit in the driveway, just so I could hear the rest of the chapter!

Jim Dale, the guy who reads the HP books on CD is amazing! I've listened to all the Harry Potter books on CD and now I'm listening to them all again because I can't find any books on CD that I like better and I was "missing" Harry. I was never into Harry Potter until I heard the books on tape and then I was hooked. I truly think anyone would like them.
