Last night's episode was really interesting in my opinion. I liked that it was fast paced. Some of the days they only showed like 30 seconds of an interaction and I'm wondering what for. I'm sure there was some significance to them but I haven't had time to go back and look.
I definitely thought something was fishy with Goodwin when he first came up. I kept looking for Libby in the crash scene and didn't see her, so I thought she must be an other, but there was something about her throughout the episode (before we knew Goodwin was the Other) that I kept thinking she doesn't seem like an Other.
I think next week will be interesting. We definitely know AL killed Shannon and that Shannon was shot, so it'll be neat to see how they deal with that.
That's all I have time to write right now, but I'm sure I'll think of more later.
Libby: I'm pretty sure I saw her running around in the craziness of the wreckage in the first few scenes. I don't think that she is an other anymore.
Goodwin: Kind of sounds like, 'good one,' if you recall his and AL's conversation right before she killed him. I'm sure his name is significant. But what qualifies someone as a 'good one' still remains to be seen. And the list?? Wow! Crazy.
Ana Lucia: This chick is a bad ass and she's really perceptive, too! I'm pretty sure we'll see her as a cop (maybe she's previously had a run-in with Kate) and that she has a military background.
Nathan: It was obviously noted that he was from Canada. So was Ethan. Locke worked for a box company in Canada. We'll see Nathan in a flashback, I'm sure.
Shannon: Yeah, she's dead. AL shot her. No question about that.
Bernard and the radio transmission: We now know that it was Bernard that Boone was communicating with over the radio last season.
The bunker: Had 'quarantine' on the inside of the door. The Dharma logo is, in fact, an arrow. And that bunker still had electricity. And someone had a glass eye. There were some weird personal effects in that bunker.
That's what I've got at the moment. I'll be back later.
I thought last night's ep was great - fast paced and full of interesting tidbits.
I thought Goodwin was very fishy, especially since he came running out of the jungle after the plane crash, but I didn't really put two and two together until about halfway through. I was too busy watching Libby's every move to see if she is an Other. I'm still not convinced that she's not, but I do like her character.
As for the glass eye, does anyone remember the boatful of people who kidnapped Walt in last year's season finale? I recall one of them having a patch over their eye - perhaps the glass eye belongs to the boat people, who I assume are The Others?

I definitely saw Libby in the water in the opening scenes -- it's just for a moment but she is there. It's in the immediate aftermath of the crash. However, she does have on that same kind of earth-toned clothing that the Others wear, so while it's possible she's not an Other, I'm still not entirely convinced.
Also, the little boy was holding the teddy bear that Jin and Mr. Eko spotted when the hid from the Others in the jungle. I wonder if the jackknife came from the Dharma bunkers, considering AL said it was about 20 years old.
It was cool to see it was Bernard who was speaking with Boone and what he actually said. I remember there being debate last year about what Boone heard; i.e., was it "There were no survivors of flight 815" or "We're the survivors of flight 815."
I wonder if AL is going to take out Sayid? It looked like she had him tied up and was about to hit him in the scenes for next week.
I like AL a million times more after watching last night's ep.
I also felt bad for the Tailies -- they had no doctor, no super-cool hunter/philosopher/knife-thrower, no engineer, no former Iraqi Republican Guard Member with amazing technological skills. Plus their hatch is lame, and they didn't have the suitcases or the guns. Sucky.
Question for the hardcore fans -- these are obviously the people from the tail section. Where were the others? In the front? In the middle? Where are all the other passengers -- dead in the ocean? A normal transcontinental flight would have at least a few hundred people, right?

Haha...you're right. The Tailies got shafted.
The Losties are from the middle section of the plane. The front section is where they found the pilot in the first season. The Tailies are (duh) from the tail. HTH!!

I was rewatching Season 1 last week and saw the guy on the boat wearing an eyepatch. So yeah, there is a strong possibility that the glass eye was his. I was also too busy looking for Libby during the initial crash scene to realize how odd it was that Goodwin came running OUT of the jungle, all dry. Does anyone remember when he was talking to AL about Nathan and AL said she was going to cut his finger off and Goodwin said, "We're not savages" or something to that effect? That was so Lord of the Flies (which is one of my favorite novels btw). What do you all think of Nathan? Is there some connection since his name is very similar to Ethan Rom/ Other Man? And they are both from Canada, too. What the heck was Nathan doing in the jungle for 2 hrs. besides going to the bathroom? I am still a little suspicious of Libby. She was the one that approached AL about how she thought Nathan was weird, and that made AL go all paranoid about Nathan being an Other.
