ladies what do you do with old christmas cards? I have some old ones and iam tired of hanging on to them . I used to hang them up on a string but iam tired of that. Is it wrong to throw them away??
I hang on to them & then every few years I find them, think I'm nuts for keeping them, and throw them all out. Are you looking for ideas for recycling them? Because there are tons of things you can do with them if you are feeling crafty. But if your question is rather or not it's rude to throw them out, THROW THEM OUT. I keep a few that are really extra special to me (like from my grandparents before my grandfather died) but I think it's just stacking up junk at your house otherwise! JMO
ETA: I do have a book that is like a journal that I do keep track of who sent me cards & their address for handy reference the next year. That way no one gets left out.

okay thank you laken 1 , no iam not feeling crafty i just wanted to get rid of them and as much as I hate clutter i dont know why iam hanging on to them. I feel much better now
Toss 'em. As long as I've noted everybody's current address, I throw out the cards shortly after christmas. Or if it's an especially cute card, I'll save the cover and use it as a gift tag the next year.
i recently went through the world's largest box of greeting cards in my basement. i had saved every single last card ever given to me... it was scary. i saved the sentimental ones and the especially nice, cute or inspiring ones and tossed the rest.
my family cuts the card so that you only have the picture on the front and uses it as a gift tag. we write the TO: ____________ Love: ___________ on the back of the card so as not to ruin the picture. i know it sounds like it is huge, but we have ribbons and paper that coordinates with the card and its kinda cute to have a picture on your present instead of a teeny tiny card...
and then they get thrown out with the wrapping paper! its kinda nice to give them one more use.
