Hey ladies, my coworker/friend has trouble w/ breakouts. I was wanting to get her something for xmas from sephora (cuz it's 20% off!) and was thinking maybe some DDF products since everyone raves about them... so what would be some "starter" products? Like, if I am going to just get one cleanser, which is the best? Moisturizer, etc.?
She should defintely get the BP 5% gel and the Ultra-Lite Oil Free Moisturizing Dew. I have not used DDF cleansers, but I'd imagine them to be great quality like the other stuff. All the girls here rave about the 10% Glycolic toner but I think that it would be more useful when the acne is at least 75% cleared up. Or maybe if she used the toner during the day and the BP gel at night that might work.
Thanks for asking this crystal. Not trying to hijack but I would also love to hear what the users think of this product. How it works for their skin type, what products they use and like etc. I am in search of something to stop the breakouts, dermalogica isn't cutting it. Thanks
I'm not completely sure if I'm getting the names of these products right but I use DDF Protective SPF 15 moisturizer, Blemish face wash, Holistic lightener, and I tried the Protective eye cream with SPF 15. I love the moisturizer because it's not too greasy, has sunscreen, and hasn't broken me out. I like the holistic lightener...I'm using it to lighten some old blemish scars and freckles. I've noticed a bit of lightening but I might try something stronger after I use this bottle up. I just started using the face wash and I like it so far...it leaves my skin feeling really soft although it doesn't take off all my eye makeup so I've been having to use a makeup remover before it. And I didn't like the eye cream because I have sensitive eyes and it made them tear up. But I have noticed that my skin is looking a lot better since I started using DDF products and even my mom commented that my skin looked clearer. So, I'm sticking with DDF. HTH.
i have owned: ultra lite moisturizing dew, 10% glycolic toner, 5% bp gel with tea trea oil, and the daily matte moisturizer or something. I returned everything except the toner and the ultra lite moisturizer- which i still feel was way too pricey- i liked it a lot- very light, but i wouldn't buy it again without some deal- it was gone in a month almost and its $35 moisturizer. The 5% bp gel made my face flake terribly, it was too strong for me. make sure your skin isn't too fragile or sensitive. I use a 2.5% bp gel and its much better for me, plus its huge and only $8. If i want tea tree oil, i'll just go to the body shop or whole foods or something, and put a few drops on a cotton ball, and then apply the bp gel. I use this one:
the daily matte moisturizer was also terrible for me. i hated it- it would ball up ontop of the bp gel and it was chalky, so it would get into flakes in my skin and make them white. this is only to be used if your skin is not dry at all, and pretty oily i guess. my skin gets oily, but also is dry in the winter, and needs moisture, hence why i bought it. No good. The 10% toner is really nice, but i only use sparingly or i'll be completely flaky too. it lasts forever so its a pretty good deal. i usually dampen a cotton ball then put a few drops on it so its not as strong, it does brighten me up. as far as cleansers crystal, i've been using hte philosophy cleanser that grace, lilykind, etc use, and i really like it.

Do you girls like the Purity Made Simple face wash? I've been using some Clean and Clear cream cleanser, but it makes my face look blotchy, and tingles way too much. I tend to have semi-sensitive skin, is the Purity wash non-irratating? Also, what's a good size to get? 8 oz, 16 oz? Thanks!
