Tinted lip balm would be perfect for you. Try looking into Avon Mark Totally Balmed lip balm. It is tinted and a good price.

It comes well reviewed. If you want to splurge a little, people really like the Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Treatment. I haven't tried it yet.

I have Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. It is a universally flattering color, but it might be a bit of a shock to you. Look into the other colors in this line. You should be able to find something you'll like. I like the texture of Almost Lipstick. It's much more like a thin balm than a gooey, slippery lipgloss.

Another one to consider is Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm.

Check out Burt's Bees tinted lip balm. It gives a hint of color, isn't shiny or sticky and is pretty moisturizing. You can get it at Ulta and Target (and probably a lot of places.)  I have the Fig color and really like it.

If you're looking for something a bit more pigmented, I like Korres Lip Butter.

Edited- I had completely forgotten about Sugar.  I have the Plum color and I do really like it.  My lips are very soft after using it.  But honesly, if I hadn't gotten it in a set last Christmas, there is no way I would have paid $22 for it.

I've been thinking that I would like to wear a bit of color on my lips but as a non-makeup wearing girl, I'm stymied. I don't want lipstick and I don't want lip glos, so what else is there? Tinted chapstick?

Can you guys recommend something? I'm not concerned with color shade at the moment, I figure I'll have to play around with that anyway but I would prefer something that's moisterizing and not sticky. I think those are my only two don't wants.

I think this year's Beauty Insiders birthday gift at Sephora is the Fresh Sugar lip balm set. Can't wait for March to come!

What about a lip stain? It usually dries my lips out a little so I have to put chap stick on top, but it lasts forever.

Man, I totally forgot about lip stains until this post. I have some that I haven't used in months, they must be buried somewhere. I have to dig them out of my makeup bag asap!

Really?  That would be awesome!  I did love the Sugar balm, but the $$ was just too much to shell out for a balm.  Let us know in March.

I know! So much better than Philosophy 3-in-1.

Metric - thanks for the tip about the Revlon Lip Butters! I hadn't heard of them before.

If you want to try something that's not too spendy, I highly recommend Revlon Lip Butters. They come in about a million colors and have a fantastic moisturizing texture. Like a chapstick/balm but more glam.

The beauty blog world has gone nuts over them so you can find reviews and swatches everywhere.

Kelly - my fave thing to do with lipstains (whose colors usually tend to be a bit too bright, intense, and clear for my taste) is put a gloss that contains golden or toffee shimmer over them. Doing so moisturizes, provides depth, and tones down the color a bit. Plus, you still get the long wear! I love the flexibility of stains! (I hope I'm not hijacking). :)

Second the burt's bees tinted lip balms.
I also use co bigelow's rose salve all winter long.

There is no color to it but it makes my lips shiny and soft, is very affordable & smells good.

Thanks, girls, for the suggestions. I'm going to definitely check out the Burt's Bees since that's what I normally use now for chapstick. The Lip Butters sound interesting, I'll check out the colors and see what I think.

My swear-by...wear-it-daily is the Blackberry Beeswax lip tint by Savannah Bee Company. I picked it up once in Bigelow years ago and loved it so much I tracked it down online and keep it in stock always.

Not to hijack, but I love the Savannah Bee Company (discovered them during trips to Savannah and Charlston).  I just found out that they have a flat shipping of $5.  I love their hand cream and salves.  Honey's not too bad either.aww

I saw an ad in a magazine this morning for something Clinique has called "Almost Lipstick" and it made me think of you. I have no idea what it's like IRL though.

Ooo good idea! I have a ton of glosses in my makeup bag that I got as gifts-with-purchase that I never use, this would be a fun experiment with them! I've done gloss-over-stain in exactly one combination to get a super BRIGHT pink, but other than that I haven't played around with any combos. Gold/toffee shimmer over a stain sounds really appealing. And I bet it would help me get some use out of a few stains I bought that aren't exactly right as-is.
