Does anyone know a decent pair of in-ear headphones for under $40? I have a decent pair from Apple, but the cord got all frayed, and I'm afraid if I buy a new pair, the same thing will happen. I can't bear to wear the headphones that came with my iPod, they are SO uncomfortable.

I bought these after my original Apple ones died. I love them; They've got a rubber piece, so they stay in your ears REALLY well, and they're not uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Only $20 from Target
If you're willing to do a little work, you can get the MOST AWESOME sound from this setup. I have a few headsets (including a high-end $300 one) but this setup gets the most use. (you can buy the exact same setup for a cellphone earpiece, too, and it makes the sound so much better!)
Dump the styrofoam eartips (unless you happen to like them. I don't). Go to this high end seller and buy a set of eartips for $12: http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/er20.aspx
Now simply put the HiFi earplugs on the stems of the Plug earphones, and you're good to go.
If anyone finds anything under $100 that has sound as good as this setup, please speak up!
Thanks! I am still covered by the warranty for the earphones. I'm going to take them to an Apple Store, but I'm sure they'll say it's my fault and won't give me a new pair. Then I'll try out your suggestions.
