So I've noticed that some on-line magazines are recomending statement pants for holiday parties this year. Personally, not only could I not pull off this look, I can't think of anyone that I know who could. What do you guys think?
I would like to preface my comment by saying that I am aware my opinion is probably not fair or right but - every time I see printed pants, it just reminds me of a tired mom or a dowdy grandma. Like, fashion isn't a priority for them but they still want to communicate "I'm fun!" so they get these cropped pants with flamingos or martinis or flowers printed all over them and proceed to wear their "fun pants" with a plain t-shirt to every barbecue and pool party all summer long. 99% of the time when I see printed pants now, it just screams "soccer mom trying to be hip."

I can pull it off - or rather, I have. Probably not something I'd wear these days. IMO they either have to be lightweight and flowy, or really crisp. Love those leopard ones.
It's like jumpsuits. You gotta be all in or not at all. Long legs are probably best. Alsom making sure you don't stand as if you're stuck on the ledge near the top of a tall building while you're at the party is probably helpful.
There was just a feature in Marie Claire that featured a bunch of looks, playing on ideas of white, leopard and gold in terms of a straight cropped pant, loose blouse and structured blazer. When paired with a strong heel and great clutch, the look was certainly a GREAT standout holiday outfit. Would love to show you but I just threw my mag out and can't find it online! Ack!
Could you please tell me where those leopard pants are from? They are AWESOME!!!!!
Shopbop. Not sure of the brand.
Can you link me to them. I cannot find them on there.
Here you go. The designer is Elie Tahari. They're actually on sale too. But it looks like they only have a size 12 (and I know that's not your size from the threadstyles that you've posted.) Maybe some one will return another size at some point?
