Dress me for a January wedding, please! :) I had a few dresses I was trying to decide between and then I talked to the bride and she clearly has a preference that her guests wear long gowns, which sent me back to the drawing board.
So let's see, it will pretty formal and fancy, at 6 p.m. in midtown Atlanta. I don't care at all about whether the dress is "wintery" since the wedding and reception are the same place so i won't have to go outside much and they have a coat check. I was thinking blue, but I don't know. Mainly it must be long. :)
To give you an idea, I looooove this dress, but sadly, I don't not have $700 to blow at the moment. I'm really looking at under $200. But I love that it's kind of slinky without being slutty.
I realize this is a tall order, but anything you gals can find would be awesome!!
I suppose that it's the bride's call as to the formality of the wedding, but it kind of irks me that she would insist on her guests wearing floor length dresses (which means that most people will have to buy a new dress. I know I don't have anything but cocktail length ones.) But that's neither here nor there.
Thanks, ladies! I love all the ones you posted Boots! I must not know how to use Nordstrom's website because I didn't see any of those! And I went poking around for more CK dresses and found this one that should be delivered tonight so we'll see if it works! If not, now I have some options to look out for...and will check Macy's too. Thanks! :)
Oh, and Boots, I do agree with you and was especially surprised since it's so unlike her to be like that and the invitation didn't say anything. If it had said black tie optional or something I might have even understood. Oh well, I don't have any short dresses I like for this so I'd have to buy something anyway.
