I need some new songs to download to my iPod. I'm so sick of all the songs on it right now and haven't heard anything out or on the radio that has struck me lately.
I don't know what kind of music you like, but I'm really into music that makes me want to kill myself recently. I listen to music in terms of playlists so here's what I've currently got (sorry it's long)...
Slip Sliding Away-Paul Simon We're Just Friends-Wilco Fall In A River-Badly Drawn Boy Maine Island Lovers-Okkervil River Creep-Radiohead Trouble-Cat Stevens Beast-Laura Minor Let's Not Shit Ourselves-Bright Eyes Lover's Spit-Broken Social Scene Modern Romance-Yeah Yeah Yeahs Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me-The Smiths Sweedeedee-Cat Power The Lengths-The Black Keys Archipelago-Mirah River-Joni Mitchell Most Of The Time-Bob Dylan Creep-Radiohead If She Wants Me-Belle and Sebastian Where Is My Mind?-Pixies
my current faves are the first two tracks on the new Spoon album, called "The Beast & Dragon Adored" and "The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine." they are good back to back. and i am also replaying "Tech Romance" by Her Space Holiday a lot, too. and the Tom McRae song that is in a recent car commercial--it's kind of creepy/cool--"A Day Like Today."
Common - Testify Kindred the Family Soul - Where Would I Be (The Question) Floetry - Supastar Jill Scott - Whatever Vivian Green - Gotta Go Gotta Leave (Tired)
"Golddigger" is stuck in my head and I really want it out!
Random selection of what I've been listening to on repeat:
"Life on Mars" -David Bowie "I'm Going Down" -Bruce Springsteen "So Lonely" -The Police "The Rain Song" -Led Zeppelin "You Know You're Right" and "Sappy" -Nirvana "The City" -Dismemberment Plan "It's Not Pecular" -Husker Du
Maddie I love Mirah. I mainly just listen to Advisory Committee all the time but my boyfriend and I listened to You Think It's Like This But Really It's Like This a lot when I was visiting him the other week so now it has sentimental value and will probably make me weepy and depressed when I listen to it now!

Mirah is so amazing. You Think... was my CD this summer; like every week I'd discover a new favorite song. And I just got Advisory Comittee on vinyl. If I were you'd I'd listen to Million Miles (it's so fitting) and wallow.

It's ridiculously fitting! "I've got one week behind me, just six more to go" I've been trying not to wallow but I think I'm just going to give in and get it out of my system.
shamefully, i have already broken out the christmas music. so lately i've been listening to phil specter's christmas album. (specifically "christmas, baby please come home" by darlene love)
otherwise i'm really obsessed with quasi's "please do."
That's something to be proud of-Montgromaery Gentry
she's somebody hero- Jamie ONeil
LoneStar
Your like coming home and I love Iam already there(the video called Saulate to the American soldiers is bone chilling but i love it it makes me cry ever time
Gretchen Wilson- all jacked up
I love the old rock too- 60-70's and even the 80's well i grew up with that kind so i guess it is to be excpected Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi ,Boston, Aerosmith and the list goes on lol
This is so great! I've never even heard of some of these artists and I'm going through iTunes listening to the samples and downloading some stuff. I really need to branch out music-wise. My taste is getting too main stream since I only hear music on the radio and out at bars. It was so much easier in college.
i have no idea what's new or old so forgive me if some of the songs are "out." i'm a bit of a hip-hop head so a lot of the songs are that genre
processed beats -- kasabian
so have i for you -- nikka costa
chewing gum -- annie
there it go (whistle song) & mic check 1,2 -- juelez santana
go crazy -- young jeezy (these are hardcore hip-hop, so they make not be your taste)
if you're looking to learn more about new music i highly recommend reading www.stereogum.com (he always posts links to mp3's a lot of it's indie, but it's a great way to preview new stuff). you can also try npr's songs to consider (you can download it from the npr site). i also really like www.eastvillageradio.com it's streaming radio. they do it in 2 hour sets and have a wide array of dj's spanning different genres. this is where i find most of the new stuff i add to my ipod.
Lately I listen to institute alot.So most my current favs are from them.
Bullet proof skin--Institute When animals attack--Institute Wasteland--Institute Save the robots--Institute Mr.brightside-- The killers Greedy fly--Bush Little things--Bush Faceless--Godsmack My doorbell--The White stripes
The denial twist--The white stripes Ugly as I seem---The White stripes Mistake-Horrorpops Julia--Horrorpops

FashionFreak - I bought the debut sigur ros album - listened to it a few times, but never really got into it - I know it has supposedly changed people's lives - maybe you are one of those people
right now I've really been into Howie B. and Sly and Robbie - Howie B will be touring with Sinead O'Connor soon - odd pairing. With my crazy commute though the thick of Detroit each morning, techno/electronica just seems most fitting...
oh - and I'm really digging Van Lear Rose right now - fantastic album (Loretta Lynn and Jack White)
