Threading - hair grows back...
Permalink Closed

Has anyone heard the following?

Don't get your eyebrows threaded because the hair tends to grow back curly.

I got my eyebrows waxed this week, and this is what the aesthetician said to me. At first, I was like pushaw. But then I remembered my eyebrows have been driving me nuts! Some hairs are curling. I mentioned my "burgeoning old-man eyebrows" in a post a couple weeks ago and bought brow fixative gel to hold them in place! I have had my eyebrows threaded twice in the past year or so.

The woman did an awesome job on my brows, which was so great. Super crisp! I really needed it cuz the last wax job was not good. One word:  tadpoles.

I've never had that problem after threading, nor have I ever heard of it. I used to get my eyebrows threaded regularly, and the only difference I ever experienced was that my hair grew back much more slowly after threading than after waxing.

I don't know about CURLY but I was told that plucking hair (ala threading) tends to cause the hair shaft to break and sometimes the hair will grow back not straight up at a slight angle. Maybe this is what youre experiencing?

Yeah, Xtina. Most of the brow hairs are going with the grain, and a few will either be curving down or up, and the won't lay straight. Thank god they're not ringlets or anything! That's all I need.
