we've lost a national hero. i was just thinking of her because there was a documentary on hbo about her this past sunday morning. As I was watching it, tears were just streaming down my face, i just couldn't help it. It is just incredible when you think about it, how much courage and tenacity and faith and hope she and all the other activists exhibited during that cruel time. she will be missed.
so sad. Isn't it incredible that that happened in so short a time that she was still alive? I think it's incredible to think about that. That within her lifetime these civil liberities were still being violated. I just think that's an amazing & telling way to look at it - that it wasn't that long ago.

I was so sad when I heard this!! I have loved Rosa Parks and what she stood for ever since I heard the story when I was maybe 6 or 7. I admired her bravery.
