ok, i have changed the direction my room is going in from delapidated sea castle to rustic lodge type dwelling (i think its because of the season!).  I think this came about because the white coral pulls on my antique pine ikea dresser look kind of like antlers   My desk is also a sort of rich medium brown and i have a wood base lamp and my desk chair has this ugly old plaid fabric on the seat, which i think i'm starting to like .  I still have a girly tiled end table with my cosmetics/jewelry on it, but my tall lamp is kind of rustic too.  My curtains are long blue drapes with a brown paisley print on them (they are over the french door- there is nothing over my window but blinds).  Anyway, any accents/wall decor to recommend or sheets/throw rugs?  I still need those two things.  For a while I wanted to do all white sheets but maybe have my sheets be red stripes or a simple pattern and my comforter be white?

haha i kind of want these to hang on my wall:

I actually think you could pull it off.  I kind of like the idea of pairing some masculine sheets ie:  plaid, stripes or paisley with a white sham/pillowcase...maybe with a little feminine detail like eyelet trim or satin ribbon edge. Your "girly" end table would also help to soften the effect.   Maybe you could find some inspiration at www.polo.com.  I think Ralph over the years has consistantly worked the "rustic lodge"  look.
