I wear eye makeup (black liner and shadow) & blush (pink), not lipstick, on a daily basis. But today I just need some pick-me-ups. I thought pink blush would do it, but nope.
Any suggestions? I'm fair-skinned, dark blonde, hazel eyes. Thanks!
the best way to look polished is first off with great looking skin! - i use aveda concealer on every tiny little imperfection with a brush - in a magnified mirror - it takes about one or two min - i use bobby brown creamy undereye concealer and then brush powder (i love maybelline's or mac's) all over my face - as far as your eyes
i think that black eyeliner can be really harsh - esp on fair coloring - i like to use sonia kashiuk's angled eyeliner brush from target (the best one i have ever found, including my trish mcevoy and laura mercier and mac brushes) in black eyeshadow and line just the top of my eyes during the day and sometimes bottom too at night for a smokier eye
also a dab of white or very light colored shadow in the inner corners of your eye works WONDERS - i usually use a white pencil or i have one that's actually skin colored (so more subtle) in the inner corners and it makes my eyes pop "like whoa!" lol
everyones different, but i find that i don't look polished without some color on my lips. its the only thing that brightens me up- much more than mascara/eye makeup, and slightly more than blush. Good skin helps too, as well as some light bronzer. Try Rimmel lip gloss in snog, very cheap and brightens you up without looking lipsticky, sold at Wal-Mart.
I always feel like I don't look quite right unless I put on some bronzer and blush. If I do that then it doesn't really seem to matter what my eyes look like. But a little pink lip gloss never hurt either...
I think that if I really want to look *decent* then I have to put on something on my lips that gives a bit more color than pink gloss. Lipstick, more pigmented gloss, etc.
I am fair and naturally dark blonde too (though my hair is currently much lighter). If your eyebrows are blonde/dark blonde like mine, I'd try a soft eyebrow powder -- it makes me look MUCH more "done."

I'd try something other than black eyeliner...too harsh. What about a grey or bronze? What color eye shadow are you wearing? Try a sheer purple-y/pink. White eyeshadow blended right under the eyebrow helps open the eye. Curl your top lashes and put on a coat of mascara. I am another fan of Snog lipgloss by Rimmel. Keep the pink blush.
