I have the white ones and I am always wishing I had got a different set more like the 1st ones you posted. There is something about the lightness of the plastic, I need a mixing bowl to have a bit more wieght. Just my weird personal prefrence.

Both! The bottom ones are great for actual mixing because of the rubberized bottoms. The top set is so cute and would be good for chips or salad, or just to have on hand for entertaining. They serve two different purposes.

I agree w/gruiz, keep both.  I have multiple sets of mixing bowls and find I still use them all for different purposes.  I like the handle and the pour spout on the the bottom set, but the first set is so pretty.

I have a colored mixing bowl set.  Love it!  The white ones may have a pour spout and grip but color is fun.
